After Vivo’s affordable Y-series smartphones comprising of the Y15, Y17 and Y12, the company will now bring new Z-series phones. This subsequently, will bring some affordable smartphones, competing with brands like Xiaomi and Realme.
Some sources from India Today revealed that Vivo is soon going to launch its new Z-series lineup of smartphones in India. And, it is expected that these phones will be launched in the mid of June and July.
Meanwhile, a report also stated that these smartphones from Vivo will come with Snapdragon’s 700 series processor. Most likely this would be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC, which Qualcomm had released this year. While, Snapdragon 712 is the improved version and successor to the Snapdragon 710. The company claims that the Snapdragon 712 performs 20% faster than its predecessor.
If Vivo’s Z-series phones do come with this hardware, it could be a major competition to the Redmi Note 7 Pro and upcoming Realme X. While the Note 7 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 675, the Realme X will sport the Snapdragon 710 SoC.
However, there has been no official announcement on this. But, the company certainly plans to launch its products in the budget segment. Although the Vivo Y-series smartphones are available in offline stores, the company will seem to increase its online presence with its Z-series phones.
