Realme is a Chinese manufacturer of smartphones which is a sub-brand of Oppo. Oppo is a well known brand, which is specifically focussed at its selfie centric smartphones. Meanwhile, looking at its reducing market shares and the increasing competition from Xiaomi, Oppo decided to launch the sub-brand Realme.
The company initially rolled out a smartphone exclusive to India, named the Realme 1. Looking at the huge success of this device, Realme afterwards released it worldwide.
Apparently, the company is in the news regarding its new device, the Realme X. Also, we can expect the company to launch a lighter version of the same device alongside. Here, we look at some of the specifications of the smartphone, which are evident from the leaks.
Firstly, talking about the physical overview of the smartphone. We can expect a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2%. Further, the company claims that it will feature an AMOLED display.
Now, if you look at the performance part, Realme X will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC. In addition, it comes with 6GB of RAM + 64GB of storage, at it’s base configuration. The device will run on Android v9.0 Pie out of the box.
The camera unit of the device features a dual-camera setup at the rear. In addition to a 48MP primary sensor, it has a 5MP depth sensor. Besides, the Realme gives you a pop-up selfie camera in the device. The resolution of the selfie camera is yet unknown. However, the company claims that the pop-up camera uses a mechanical procedure and has been tested to protrude over 2 lakh times.
The Realme X packs in a 3,680 mAh Li-Polymer battery to keep the device powered up. Also, it supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging via a USB Type-C port.
Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It supports dual SIM with dual VoLTE at 4G connection.
Finally, talking about the availability. We can expect the Realme X to come in two variants. The 6GB + 64GB variant will have a price of 1,599 Yuan (~Rs 16,500). The higher 6GB + 128GB variant will come at a price of 1,799 Yuan (~Rs 18,500). On the other hand, the 8GB + 128GB variant will be available at a price of 1,999 Yuan (~Rs 20,500).
As per the experts, this device can possibly be the Chinese version of the Realme 3 Pro. We can expect Realme to launch the smartphone on May 15.
