Internet is making speculations about a new smartphone from Xiaomi since a long time. Rumours had that the device would be a Redmi Series smartphone, named the Redmi X. Well, facts are more clear now.
In a question asked on social media, the General Manager of Xiaomi, denied any such launch of a device called Redmi X. So, now the question arises what would be the name of the new Redmi Device.
Recently, we spotted the Chinese micro-blogging website, Weibo, hinting at the new device. We can clearly see a person holding the protective film of a Xiaomi smartphone. Apparently, this may be the new flagship device from Xiaomi. Also, the protective film has the branding Redmi K20 Pro written on it. So, clearly the new device will be launched by the name Redmi K20 Pro.
Here, we look at some of the leaked specifications of the latest flagship smartphone from Xiaomi.
Firstly, starting with the physical overview of the device. We can expect it to come with a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display. It surely is a major upgrade from earlier devices of Redmi which featured an IPS LCD display.
Hardware and Software
Further, coming to the hardware of the device, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Infact, this is the latest processor coming from Qualcomm, and clearly the most powerful as well. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 7 Pro and the Xiaomi Poco F2 also use the same processor. The device will run on Android v9.0 with custom MIUI 10 skin on top.
The camera unit of the device will feature a triple-camera setup at the rear. It will consist of a 48MP primary sensor from Sony, along with an 8MP depth sensor. Additionally, it will have a 13MP lens for wide angle shots. At the front, it will have a 32MP selfie shooter.
Battery and Charging
The Redmi K20 Pro will pack in the usual 4000 mAh battery to keep the device powered up. Also, it will come along with a 27W fast charging support via a USB type-C port.
Finally, talking about the pricing and availability of the smartphone. As of now, we cannot comment on the pricing of the device. However, we know that the device will come with up-to 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage at its highest configuration. Meanwhile, Realme was in the news recently for a similar device. Afterwards, the company made an official announcement that the new device would be called the Realme X. And, the company will officially launch this smartphone on May 15.
