Finally, Oppo has launched its newest series smartphone in India. It is the brand new Oppo Reno smartphone with 10x Zoom. It is a premium mid-range smartphone from Oppo with price in India starting from Rs 39,990.
Oppo is vey well known for its camera centric smartphones. The Oppo Reno is certainly a milestone in the category. The phone aims to provide you with premium aesthetics and top end hardware specifications.
Here we talk about the on paper specifications, pricing and availability of the device.
Firstly, starting with the physical aspects of the phone. Oppo gives you a 6.6-inch Edge display which is almost bezel-less. It is a Full HD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 93.1% Screen-to-Body Ratio. Besides, it comes with a Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 protection on top. The device will be available in 2 color variants, which are the Jet Black and Ocean Green.
Hardware and Software
Next, coming to the performance part, the Oppo Reno sports the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Along with it, comes the Adreno 640 GPU for graphic intensive gaming. In addition, it comes with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage, at it’s lowest configuration. The device is running on Android v9.0 Pie with the custom ColorOS 6 skin on top.
The camera unit of new Oppo Reno is the major highlight of the device. It features a unique Shark-fin Rising Camera Design. This certainly is what defines the phone and distinguishes itself from other smartphones in the market. The camera setup features a triple-camera setup at the rear. With a 48MP primary sensor (f/1.7 aperture), it has a 8MP ultra wide angle lens (f/2.2 aperture). In addition, it consists of a 13MP telephoto lens (f/3.0 aperture), which is capable 10x lossless hybrid zoom. And, not to forget, the primary sensor here is the flagship Sony IMX586 sensors and supports Optical Image Stabilization.
Meanwhile, a 16MP selfie camera (f/2.0 aperture) is embedded in the Shark-fin Rising Camera Module. Along with the selfie shooter, it also houses the LED flash for the rear camera.
Battery and Charging
The new Oppo Reno packs in a massive 4,065 mAh Li-Polymer battery to keep the device powered up. In addition, Oppo gives you a VOOC 3.0 charging adapter which supports Quickcharge via a USB type-C port.
Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device lacks a 3.5mm audio jack. However, Oppo is generous enough to give you a USB type-C earphones out of the box. It supports dual SIM with dual VoLTE at 4G connection. Additionally, you get an option to expand the storage to upto 256GB via a hybrid micro-SD card slot.
Pricing and Availability
The device will be available in two variants in India. The 6GB + 128GB variant will have a price tag of Rs 39,990. While, the 8GB + 256GB variant will have a pricing of Rs 49,990. The smartphone will be available to buy, starting from June 7 on Flipkart.
