The latest offering from HMD Global, the Nokia 4.2 is all set to launch in India on May 7. HMD Global itself confirmed the news through a Twitter post along with a teaser of the smartphone.
The 14-second video hints focuses on the LED lit power button, which doubles up as a notification light. It means, that the power button will illuminate if the user gets any notification or miss call alert. Also, a dedicated button for Google Assistance is present in the device. These two will be the Unique features in both Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2.
Here, we look at some of the specifications of the Nokia 4.2 smartphone.
Firstly, a brief overview of the design of the smartphone. Nokia 4.2 features a 5.71-inch HD+ display featuring a dot notch. Moreover, it has an a-Si TFT display along with a 2.5D curved glass on both sides. Although, it is not specified which version of the Glass it would be. The screen resolution of the device is 720×1520 pixels along with a Pixel Density of 270 ppi and 19:9 Aspect Ratio. The device is available in 2 color variants, which are blue and pink.
Now, coming to the performance part, Nokia 4.2 sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC. In addition, it is comes with 2GB of RAM + 16GB of storage, at it’s base configuration. The device is running on Android v9.0 Pie.
The camera unit of the device features a dual-camera setup at the rear. In addition to a 13MP primary sensor (with f/2.2 aperture), it has a 2MP depth sensor (with f/2.2 aperture). The front is having a 8MP selfie shooter (with f/2.0 aperture).
The Nokia 4.2 packs in a 3,000 mAh Li-Polymer battery to keep the device powered up.
Other features include a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth v4.2 and micro-USB. It supports dual SIM with dual VoLTE at 4G connection. Besides, it allows you to expand the storage to up-to 400GB with a micro-SD card.
Finally, talking about the availability, Nokia 4.2 is available in two variants. Although, the prices for the Indian market are not out yet, Nokia did announce the global prices at MWC. The 2GB + 16GB variant has a price of $169 (~Rs 11,690). On the other hand, the 3GB + 32GB variant is available at a price of $199 (~Rs 13,790).
Most noteworthy, these are the global prices. We still have to wait for the official launch in India.
