Detailed specifications of Xiaomi Redmi 7 recently launched

Xiaomi, today launched its Redmi series device at an event held in New Delhi. The event was headed by the Managing Director of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain, along with the Chief Marketing Officer, Anuj Sharma. The device launched at todays’s event was the Xiaomi Redmi 7.

We look at the detailed specification sheet of this device.

Redmi 7 is a major upgrade from last year’s Redmi 6 phone. The device is claimed to be “the ultimate all rounder” by Xiaomi. This device has an IPS LCD display with a size of 6.26 inches (15.9 cm) and an Aspect Ratio of 19:9. The screen resolution of the device is 720 x 1520 pixels along with a Pixel Density of 269 ppi. It bears the Dot Notch in the front and Xiaomi’s Aura design at the rear.

The screen comes with a Gorilla Glass 5 protection along with a hydrophobic nano-coating on top of it. There is no IP rating that Xiaomi provides with the device, but it claims that the device is Splash proof. The device would be available in 3 color variants, which are Lunar Red, Comet Blue and Eclipse Black.

On the hardware front, the Redmi 7 is built on a 64 bit Architecture. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC and accelerated by the Adreno 506 GPU. It runs on Octa core processor (4 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and Kryo 250 + 4 cores clocked at 1.8 Ghz and Kryo 250). The device is running on Android v9.0 Pie with MIUI skin on top.

The camera unit consists of a dual camera setup with a 12 MP primary camera along with a 2 MP depth sensor. The front has an 8 MP selfie shooter. Other camera features include AI Scene Detection and AI Portrait Mode.

Redmi 7 packs in a massive 4,000 mAh Li-Polymer battery to juice up the device.

Other features include a Fingerprint Sensor at the rear, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an IR Blaster which comes in handy. It supports dual SIM with dual VoLTE and has a dedicated slot for microSD card.

Redmi 7 will be made available in two variants. The 2GB + 32GB variant will be priced at Rs 7,999. And the 3GB + 32 GB variant will be priced at Rs 8,999. The device is scheduled to go on sale from April 29 on mi.com, amazon and Mi Offline Stores.
